<p class="tx1">Moblin Maze Mongers (MMM) has received the following additions and refinements:<br class="floatEnd" /></p>

Maze Voucher 02: Slay the waves of enemies that descend upon you.<br />
Maze Voucher 03: Slay enemies while navigating a multi-chambered maze.<br />
Maze Voucher 06: Use your powers of stealth to recover valuable items.</li>
<li class="sp">New Maze Runes have been added.</li>
<li class="sp">The new Cave Conservation (C.C.) point system has been implemented.</li>
<p>Players will receive their first C.C. point 32 hours after the last time they exited a maze of their own design. Additional C.C. points will be awarded at a rate of one every 8 hours thereafter, up to a maximum of 6 points.<br />
Ordering a new maze with C.C. points in your possession will result in an additional treasure chest appearing on completion, accessible only to the maze-ordering player. The chest will yield rewards as follows:</p>
<p>Maze Voucher 01-03: The chest will contain experience points in an amount proportional to your accumulated C.C. points.</p>
<p>Maze Voucher 04: The chest will contain items usable in synthesis. The quality of the items will increase proportionally to your accumulated C.C. points.<br />
Maze Voucher 06: The chest will contain items; more C.C. points will yield more valuable items. The quality of the items will increase proportionally to your accumulated C.C. points.<br />
Maze Voucher 07: The chest will contain additional experience, with a chance of receiving equipment as well. The amount of experience and the likelihood of receiving items will increase proportionally to your accumulated C.C. points.</p>
<li class="sp">New background music is now available for selection.</li>
</ul>

<li class="sp">The Maze Tabula registration and copy NPC Duplidoc has been added.</li>
<p>Maze Tabulae may now be registered with Duplidoc for a fee of 20 Moblin marbles. Copies of registered tabulae may then be purchased by any player for 500 gil. Copies purchased in this manner can only be used as-is (i.e. Maze Vouchers and Maze Runes may not be altered), up to a maximum of five times.</ul>

<ul class="tx2">
<li class="sp">To compensate for difficulty adjustments and the introduction of the C.C. point system, the amount of Moblin marbles awarded for completing various mazes has been adjusted.</li>
<li class="sp">The following refinements and adjustments have been made to MMM Materialization Team mazes:</li>
<p>- Materials obtained will be automatically and instantaneously stored with the NPC Stowastiq.<br />
- There is now a chance that materials will not be lost when synthesis fails.<br />
- The necessary waiting period between synthesis attempts has been shortened from 60 to 45 seconds.<br />
- Certain conditions will result in the appearance of a notorious monster which, if defeated, will yield intermediate synthesis materials. (Note: These materials will not be automatically stored, and must be delivered to Stowastiq manually.)<br />
- When assigned your final order, it will now be possible to choose from a list of items.<br />
- Base synthesis skill level has been increased for all Materialization missions. Synthesis level may be increased even further by adding the appropriate Maze Rune.<br />
- Reward items have been increased to three times their previous quantity, and their contents overhauled as well.</p>
<li class="sp">The detection and linking conditions for Sanitization Team monsters have been adjusted.</li>
<li class="sp">When confirming your maze order, Maze Vouchers will no longer be displayed in the list in the lower left hand corner of the screen.</li>

<h1>Battle-related</h1>

<li class="sp">The teleportation service in past Vana&#8217;diel requiring payment in Allied Notes has been expanded to cover the following destinations:<br />

<li class="sp">Areas over which the Allied Forces hold sway will now host new NM battles.<br />
To access these battles, the player must first acquire a single-use key item by trading Allied Notes to the designated NPC in the nation currently in control of the area in question. Examining the &#8220;Shredded Label&#8221; target point in each area while in possession of the appropriate key item will initiate the battle. Only players with a key item may participate in the battle.</li>
<li class="sp">The following changes have been made to Campaign Battles:<br />
The amount of evaluation points awarded for attacking Fortifications has been adjusted.<br />
Attacking Fortifications and other enemies specific to Campaign no longer increases combat and magic skills, regardless of whether or not you have received the effect of an Allied Tag.</li>

While Afflatus Solace is activated, the amount of HP you restore via Cure spells and the job abilities Benediction and Martyr will be recorded up to a limit determined by your character&#8217;s level.<br />
This accumulated amount will determine the bonus value granted to specific spells.<br />
- Notes on Afflatus Misery<br />
While Afflatus Misery is activated, the most recent damage you sustain will be recorded up to a limit determined by your character&#8217;s level. This damage amount will determine the bonus value granted to specific spells. Unlike Afflatus Solace, it is non-cumulative and overwriting.</p>
<p><span class="co1">*The effects of both Afflatus Solace and Afflatus Misery are mutually exclusive. Activating one while the other is in effect will result in the nullification of the ability originally in effect.<br />
Using either Afflatus Solace or Afflatus Misery when the same ability is already activated will reset all recorded values up to that point.</span><br class="floatEnd" /></p>

Transfers one enfeebling effect from target party member to yourself.<br />
Casting Sacrifice while Afflatus Solace is activated grants a bonus to the number and variety of enfeebling effects transferred.<br />
- Cure / Cure II / Cure III / Cure IV / Cure V<br />
Casting the above Cure spells while Afflatus Solace is activated grants the target the effect of Stoneskin for a short duration.<br />
The Stoneskin effect attained via this method is not stackable with and will not overwrite the effect of skills such as the white magic spell &#8220;Stoneskin&#8221; and Blood Pact: Ward ability &#8220;Earthen Ward.&#8221;<br />
- Elemental Resistance Spells<br />
Casting Bar- type spells while Afflatus Solace is activated grants an additional defense bonus to the associated element.<br />
- Holy<br />
Casting Holy while Afflatus Solace is activated grants a potency bonus to the spell based on the amount of HP you restore. The record of accumulated HP is reset upon use.<br />
- Cura (Lv.40)<br />
Restores HP for party members within area of effect.<br />
Casting Cura while Afflatus Misery is activated grants a potency bonus to the spell based on the most recent damage you sustain.<br />
The record of damage taken is reset upon use.<br />
- Esuna (Lv.61)<br />
Removes one enfeebling effect you have from yourself and party members within area of effect.<br />
Casting Esuna while Afflatus Misery is activated grants a bonus to the number and variety of enfeebling effects removed.<br />
- Auspice (Lv.55)<br />
Reduces TP dealt when striking an enemy for party members within area of effect.<br />
When cast upon a white mage for whom Afflatus Misery is activated, Auspice also adds light damage to initial attacks (subsequent blows by characters for whom multiple attacks are possible do not receive this effect) and bestows an accuracy bonus when target is missed.<br />
- Banish / Banish II / Banish III / Banishga / Banishga II<br />
Casting the above Banish spells while Afflatus Misery is activated grants a potency bonus to the spell based on the most recent damage you have sustained.<br />
The record of damage taken is reset upon use.<br class="floatEnd" /></p>
<p class="tx3">The following white mage spells and job abilities have been adjusted:<br />
- White magic &#8220;Banish II&#8221;: Slight increase to magic accuracy. Casting time shortened from 3.75 to 2.5 seconds.<br />
- White magic &#8220;Banish III&#8221;: Slight increase to magic accuracy. Casting time shortened from 5.5 to 3 seconds.<br />
- White magic &#8220;Banishga II&#8221;: Slight increase to magic accuracy.<br />
- White magic &#8220;Raise II&#8221;: MP consumption reduced from 200 to 150. Casting time shortened from 20 to 14 seconds.<br />
- White magic &#8220;Raise III&#8221;: MP consumption reduced from 250 to 150. Casting time shortened from 20 to 13 seconds.<br />
- White magic &#8220;Reraise&#8221;: Learning requirement reduced from Lv.33 to Lv.25 for WHM, and Lv.40 to Lv.35 for SCH.<br />
- White magic &#8220;Reraise II&#8221;: Learning requirement reduced from Lv.60 to Lv.56 for WHM, and Lv.75 to Lv.70 for SCH. MP consumption reduced from 175 to 150. Casting time shortened from 8 to 7.5 seconds.<br />
- White magic &#8220;Reraise III&#8221;: Learning requirement reduced from Lv.75 to Lv.70 for WHM. MP consumption reduced from 200 to 150. Casting time shortened from 8 to 7 seconds.<br />
- Job ability &#8220;Martyr&#8221;: Ability range increased to be equivalent to Cure spells.<br />

Each successive activation increases elemental damage strength up to a predetermined limit and reduces the enemy&#8217;s resistance against the opposed element.</p>
<p>Example) Enblizzard II: Adds ice damage to your initial attacks and reduces the target&#8217;s resistance against fire.</li>
</ul>

<p class="tx1">The following changes have been made to summoner Blood Pact abilities:<br class="floatEnd" /></p>

<p>Players may view the contents of their Mog Satchel via the abovementioned &#8220;Mog Satchel&#8221; submenu or the &#8220;/satchel&#8221; text command, and move items between it and their standard inventory as desired. Note that it is not possible to equip or use items directly from one&#8217;s Mog Satchel, or sell them via bazaars.</p>

<p>If fake (which we assume it is), it’s surprisingly well composed. But if you take a look at the image accompanying this story, you’ll see the e-mail&#8217;s version of a European World of Warcraft login page. Unless things have changed since my WoW days, this hardly appears genuine, or even remotely professional. There’s no corporate jargon and only a single input box for the account name. No password appears to be asked for.</p>
<p>After scouting around the website source code (not that we’re experts), it reveals little, as in, there doesn’t seem to be much going on behind the scenes. The page also happens to be rather bland; it seemingly lacks any key visual identifiers to mark it as Blizzard’s territory. There’s no logo or unique artwork only the developer themselves would have access to.</p>
<p>This smells – and looks – entirely like a scam. And if so, it appears those password pirates are sharpening their swords by the day. Although I wasn’t tempted to entire my details, it’s somewhat understandable that somebody else might.</p>
<p>If this is a genuine e-mail, then we apologize. But you can&#8217;t blame us for thinking otherwise.</p>

Despite Modern Warfare 2 being confirmed as a 2009 title and Gears of War 3 hopefully making an appearance in 2009 it appears Sony has the corner on the console market in terms of raw power and flexibility.</strong></p>
<p><strong>KILLZONE 2 as a PS3 exclusive allowed for a game the size of 40gigs to be experienced on a blu-ray disc. After experiencing a game this graphically intensive in multiple languages while offering 32 players online in some of the most diverse online settings, we started thinking about other shooters coming out this year that could possibly come close from a technical standpoint.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Call of Duty4: Modern Warfare was a well deserved Game Of The Year in 2007. As a multi-platform title, COD4 was considered the most photo-realistic shooter when it launched, offering a very challenging campaign mode and 18 players online.  However, after experiencing the ambitions of KILLZONE 2 as a PS3 exclusive many have speculated that Modern Warfare 2 will be limited due to it’s multiplatform status. Could Modern Warfare 2 offer an even better experience if the games developer, Infinity Ward solely concentrated on the robust and flexible features of the PS3’s hardware? Well, again KILLZONE 2 is your answer, absolutely. Please don’t think Modern Warfare 2 will ever be exclusive to any console, COD4 sold like hotcakes as a multiplatform title, allowing Activision and Infinity the liberty of profiting a rhinocerous load of money. While it is a safe bet that Modern Warfare 2 will offer an incredible experience as a multiplatform title, don’t expect an experience as over the top as KILLZONE 2. An added co-op feature doesn’t mean better.</strong></p>
<p><strong>Epic’s recently announced Gears of War 3 which we are hoping will arrive this year is another highly anticipated shooter that is also expected to break new ground by utilizing Epics new Unreal 4 engine. After experiencing Gears of War 2 the only real shortcomings show up in the online offering, despite that the game is a great Xbox 360 exclusive. Will the new Unreal 4 engine surpass the Deferred Rendered (KILLZONE 2 engine) by offering a more over the top experience? Well, for starters the maximum of number of online players for both Gears of War 1&amp; 2 has been 18 players. The online experiences were very similar and doesn’t match the overall robust experience of KILLZONE 2’s online rankings and character optimization. Also with the super hi-res textures which the Gears of War franchise is known for, balancing the technically high graphical output with an appearance of unlimited partical affects, destructable environments and meaty online offering and we ca quickly begin to see why Gears of War 3 just might not match the game that many consider ‘War Perfected’.  In addition the campaign mode of Gears of War 3 as expected will try to rival the competition but a serious juggling act will ensue as hardware limitations, primarily due to storage capacity we assume will takes it toll and certain offerings will be cut and added later  for downloadable content.</strong></p>
<p><strong>By no means is this article intended to shoot down the incredible efforts expressed by the developers and publishers of both Modern Warfare 2 and the Gears of War franchise. This writer is expecting nothing short of greatness from both titles however, the limitation of the dvd format for gaming  is showing it’s limitations and this is one of the reasons why Playstation ThEvolution doesn’t see any shooters releasing this year that will match the technical prowess of KILLZONE 2.<br />
</strong></p>
<p><strong>In addition the new CryEngine 3 by CryTek which was recently shown at the GDC and by all accounts boasted some rather impressive visuals running on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 appears extremely capable of offering an incredible experience. However, we must remember that game engine presentations are just shells of the actual possibilities. What a developer chooses to do with this engine, no one really knows. No game has yet been announced utilizing this engine for 2009. </strong></p>
<p><strong>Again this article is not intended to discredit any next-gen shooters on the horizon, but only challenge the notion that KILLZONE 2 as technical powerhouse will be surpassd in the near future. I’m sorry but this just will not happen this year.</strong></p>

Japan&#8217;s Dengeki Magazine has uncovered some new information on how the game is coming along, including release windows!</p>
<p>The developers of the game let Dengeki know how the game has been coming along. The entire story and scenario has been fully completed, which is great news, while graphics for the game are around 80% done. Currently, the team is working on refining and perfecting the game&#8217;s battle system before its release later this year.</p>
<p>And remember some of the trailers shown earlier this year, and screens, like <a href="http://finalfantasyxiii.net/index.php?subaction=showcomments&amp;id=1238301944&amp;archive=&amp;start_from=&amp;ucat=&amp;" target="_blank">the ones I posted yesterday</a>? (<a href="http://finalfantasyxiii.net/index.php?subaction=showcomments&amp;id=1238301944&amp;archive=&amp;start_from=&amp;ucat=&amp;" target="_blank">Check em out</a>!) Well, according to sources, it looks like these are all from older builds of the game, meaning the game has progressed and probably looks noticeably better from what we have seen, another bit of fantastic news, the best is yet to come.</p>
<p>The developers once again reiterated that there are no plans at this time for any form of DLC, easing fan tensions, as we can be sure that we will be receiving the full game upon purchase.</p>
<p>Final Fantasy XIII is slated for a late 2009 release in Japan, with a North American and European release to follow sometime in 2010. With a demo of Final Fantasy XIII releasing in less then a month&#8217;s time with the Japanese Advent Children Complete, stick with FinalFantasyXIII.net for all your upcoming information as more on this title finally become unraveled!</p>
